Earlier tonite it tried to download a file: usercp.php to my computer. When I hit "Cancel", and tried to load FT again, it tried to download again.

hopefully Internet Brands will be here to explain. From what we understand, they had an error when trying to upload a new version of the PHP program which is in the background on some things. That caused this problem but it wasn't a hack or anything, just a very inconvenient attempt to make me re-type a post I was wavering on.....

Both Firefox and IE. Both clicking my bookmark or typing in www.flyertalk.com. Also happens when I google flyertalk and click on the search result. Finally got in by clicking one of the sub-links in google that goes directly to a specific forum.
In firefox, clicking my bookmark which goes to: http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/
I get a dialogue box:

It seemed like any time I tried clicking on a thread or MyFlyerTalk, my browser was asking what program I wanted to downloads it with (IE, FF, Opera, etc).
I’m using Win XP Pro, Opera 9.62, good EV-DO signal.

Just got an update from the tech team at IB. The turbulence you just experienced was due to a hiccup in the system while they were upgrading a piece of the core software on the server. They are confident they have fixed the problem and dealt with any related issues, and it should be smooth sailing from here.
Sorry for the bumpy ride folks.
