No moderator on the Avis board
<<Sorry if this isn't the right spot for this, but I don't know where else to inquire>>
I sent in an email a few weeks ago to FT because we don't have a moderator on the Avis board and there are some topics that need to be modified. I haven't received a response, but I'd gladly become the moderator since I'm always in an Avis car and am knowledgeable about them. Can anyone help?

Have you used the Report Bad Post feature to alert the moderators to your needs? Even though a forum doesn't have an assigned moderator, we do have a group of Senior Moderators that receive "RBP" notices in such cases.
If you are interested in volunteering to help moderate, please see:

(and, thanks for your interest!)

Hi IAHtraveler,
There are a number of forums, for whatever reason due to being 'low maintenance', on Ft that appear to be unmoderated.
However, Senior Mods have purview over all of these forums and thus can respond as if they were the Avis moderator. From memory there are four senior moderators plus Randy.
Please report your success here and good luck with your application to moderate the forum.

Incumbents do a good job, spanning across all forums [the Senior Mods], via the RBP alerts. (Result: probably a very, very long list of prospective volunteers but only a few call-ups).
Lots of FT forums don't require an official moderator, but some have them, others don't. The Senior Mods pick up the slack (e.g. RBP - noted posts) for the ones without an official person.
I'm very happy with how FT is run, in terms of letting some forums self-police as much as necessary. Bottom line is that ALL forums get attention (via response to RBPs).
My experience is that RBPs of all forums, included ones without a mod, get a response within hours (or overnight at most).
This works well.
The powers at FT wisely keep a light touch as we're all responsible adults and can mostly act with decorum with our fellow FTers.
Hallelujah for that!
