Your FT email address is not visible to anyone but you. Even if people send you email through FT, the email is sent through FT's interface so your email address is never directly revealed. Only if you reply to an email is your address ever revealed to the sender.

I don't see how any company, or any other FTer who is a non-admin, can get your email address and therefore connect you to your account. One must simply beware of posting identifying information, if one wants to be super-cautious.

I really don't think the fearmongering is warranted.
