Hi all,
This my first post of this sort, so I hope it's in the right place.
I've recently become a big fan of using the Subscribed Threads feature for threads I've posted in, or am following. When I go to MyFlyerTalk, I love that in the Subscribed Forums section, if I choose to go to the Last Post listed, the link takes me to my first unread post in that section.
However, links in other parts of the boards generally do not work in this manner. For example, in the Subscribed Threads section of MyFlyerTalk the threads are listed with the standard "(1 2 3 4 5 ... Last Page)", as threads are in forums themselves. Thus, if I haven't checked a thread in a few days, or in a popular thread, there may have been a number of posts, and I have to click on the Last Page, then page back until I find where I last left off.
I'm not sure whether there is someone responsible for the technical workings of FT, or if the BB Code is generally left alone. Having done a little web work in the past, I can see that the only difference to jump to the first unread post for a user is to add the "goto=newpost" language into the URLs. Perhaps this could simply be added into the link string for all posts, like, "1 2 3 4 5...First Unread...Last Page", or similar.
If I'm a complete moron, and this feature is somehow available beyond certain "Last Post" columns, I would love for someone to point it out. Otherwise, I think it could be a quick change that could make for more efficient browsing for all.

The same functionality does exist in the forums as you describe in MyFlyerTalk. If new posts have been made in a thread since your last visit, you will see a down pointing carrot in front of the post title ... clicking on this icon will take you to the first post that was entered since you have been away from the site.
Is this what you are looking for, or did I misunderstand?
