How to Delete OMNI Posts So That They Are Gone?

I am moving the following query from another thread where I had posted it earlier today, since it hadn't received a response there.

Using the delete option to delete OMNI posts doesn't seem to work very well. After deleting the posts and checking the next day to confirm the deletions, I am finding that a search lists the posts still and the first line of the posts. A garbage can is to the right of the quoted line. The garbage can signifies that the post was deleted, so if the quoted line is clicked on, the full post will not appear.

My specific question is this: When will the search list stop showing the post and the first line of the post and a garbage can? Or will it ever? Will the posts still remain with those first lines of the original posts forever?

(I am trying another method for remaining posts, just deleting the main text and replacing text with the word "deleted." But this method does not delete the post either, only the first quoted line. Also, when I try to delete the first lines of previously deleted posts this way, I can't pull up the deleted posts to delete those lines.)

There has to be a way to delete those posts and listings for good?

This is a BUG in the IB Beta Search and the problem has been reported many many months ago.

You are welcome to visit the master thread on search problems and read more:

ETA:
This visible-deleted-posts/threads problem applies to all fora, not just OMNI. It also applies to posts/threads deleted by the mods as well. It's a systemwide problem.
