I've gone through the subscribe several times and gotten to the "Thank you for subscribing to Talkmail." message, but I've never received the confirmation page in my @msn.com e-mail (inbox or junk mail). I've tried at least six times in the last 24 hrs. but no e-mail.
I subscribed once to my @fastmail.fm e-mail, got the confirmation e-mail by the time I got to my inbox, clicked on the confirmation link and got the welcome e-mail by the time I refreshed my inbox. On my @tampabay.rr.com e-mail, got confirmation e-mail in inbox, clicked on confirmation link, got welcome e-mail in inbox. On my @webtv.net e-mail, got confirmation e-mail in junk mail, added domain @webflyer.com to my safe list, clicked on confirmation link, and got welcome letter in my inbox. The real problem is that the @msn.com e-mail is the one I use daily. I'll try to remember to post if I don't receive the November issue in any of the ones that worked for the sub. |
Has the November TalkMail come out yet?
If so, I guess I missed it AGAIN, didn't I?

I thought it was meant for FT to be better, "technologically", I mean. I guess I am so wrong. I didn't see improvement. No one gave us updates. No one cares about us "TalkMail orphans". :(:(:(

Update:
@msn.com - finally got my confirmation e-mails (2 in my junk mail) almost two days after they were requested. We'll see if I finally get the TalkMail issues there. @gmail.com - finally got my confirmation e-mails (5 in my junk mail) over a day after they were requested. We'll see if I finally get the TalkMail issues there.

I finally actually received TalkMail on Thanksgiving... Nothing ever sent, or should I say "received" in my @excite.com since June 8, 2007. That's the last Talkmail I ever received, even after I resubscribed (3 times) and had confirmation email on 8/22/07. Eight more issues were published but zero received. As for my Gmail account, I subscribed and immediately got confirmation email on 9/26/07. Between 9/26/07 and 11/23/07, the only issue I ever received was the 10/11/07 one, "In Search of FlyerTalk". Technically speaking, that was not a "real" Talkmail. Gmail originally identified it as SPAM, I whilelisted it right away. Even so, according to TM archives, during these two-month period, 5 issues were published but NONE was delivered to my gmail account. Is this a webmail issue (which I doubt it) or FT hamster issue? If the confirmation email came through, why not the real TalkMail??:confused: Being non-techie and all, I am perfactly able to follow all the tech instructions, which I did. Still no TalkMail. What else am I supposed to do in order to get TalkMail showing up in my inbox? |

Good for you, ed1. Unfortunately, I am not as lucky as you. I guess it means no Thanksgiving for me.

Hopefully I'll now continue to receive TalkMail in those inboxes. At least the e-mail account I use daily has received the first issue, now if it will only continue. To make things even more confusing I was getting TalkMail at my @mail.ru account which was being forwarded to my @webtv.net address and going to my inbox that way with no problems until I subscribed to it at my @msn account and canceled my @mail.ru subscription, but a direct sub to the @webtv address isn't working yet. All I can say is good luck! |
Update: No 12/5/2007 Issue!

FWIW, I am still not getting any TalkMail. I am not surprised.

Gmail works but...

The confirmation email carries no bearing at all, it seems. I am a firm believer now that channel between TalkMail and Excite.com is completely shut down. |
The latest TalkMail did not arrive in either of my FT email addresses :(
|
Kiwi Flyer,
Must be that new feature to not send the Talkmail to anyone who is mentioned in the actual newsletter... :D Great blog by the way! |
No talkmail to chexfan's gmail either... :(
|
The newsletter is actually still sending, so hopefully you will still receive it. The bigger we get, the longer it takes to run through the entire subscription list.
|
Just received my @msn.com copy in the last few minutes (time sent=2252) and my @gmail.com copy earlier, but not sure exactly when (time sent=1803), so there seems to be a great amount of time during which they are sent out.
