Agreed !!

Thanks. ^

We have a hardware problem with one of the servers that is contributing to this problem, Joshua is working on it, thanks,

SchmutzigMSP Dec 18, 2006 9:55 pm

The regular flyertalk.com is very slow for me right now. web2.flyertalk.com seems to be much more snappy, though. Wish you guys luck at HOM to speed up the servers. ^

Yeah, can you please fixed the hardware problem on FlyerTalk? Can you get reboost the webpages for me. Can you please explain me reason why FlyerTalk has been always problems when I was posting onto the forums. I am really displeased for me that I have been gone too many problems. It should be fixed for whilw when they will be restore back to normal.

Good! I'm glad Joshua is fixed the hardware onto FlyerTalk lately. I'm sure he does not getting problems on FlyerTalk.

the_traveler Dec 19, 2006 7:51 pm

I too have noticed FT being s l o w in loading. I thought it was my computer, but all other sites were fine - only FT. It happens mostly on replies.

I see I'm not the only one who has this problem.

RichardInSF Dec 20, 2006 10:58 am

Seems to be much better today....crossing my fingers!

powlan Dec 20, 2006 4:13 pm

Yesterday it took forever to load. Today is fine.

the_traveler Dec 22, 2006 9:48 am

It is still slow for me at times, both on linking to threads and/or forums, and replying. Sometimes it works OK, but 75% of the time it's very slow.

web3 is a specific web server that is part of FlyerTalk.

the_traveler Jan 3, 2007 10:10 am

I just switched the FT addy to web3. It is still slow for me.

Just another day at FlyerTalk.

cblaisd Jan 5, 2007 2:55 pm

Another precinct heard from:

It's very, very slow sometimes (takes forever for a page to load) and then a minute later it will be very fast. And then a minute or two later, very slow. Etc., etc.

Mary2e Jan 5, 2007 3:03 pm

Ditto... this has been happening for a few weeks. A couple of pages load at normal speed & then whammmmm - it just sits there for a while.

It's the same on web2, 3 & 4.

cpx Jan 5, 2007 3:07 pm

Same here.....

magiciansampras Jan 5, 2007 3:13 pm

Same here.. a couple weeks seems to be the right timeframe.. Maybe coinciding with that update that occurred in November or December?

brarrr Jan 5, 2007 3:17 pm

some days are good, some days are bad. i think it has more to do with my connection than with FT

RichardInSF Jan 5, 2007 3:24 pm

Lately I've been experiencing the same sort of behavior that CBlaisd has noted above. Been going on for at least a week, maybe longer. And I am sure that the wait is for FT, not an ad provider, because I always look.

Not likely.... I'm on a huge corporate network with excess bandwidth.

It happens at work and at home and the behavior is always the same.

It has also been slow the past few days. As described by CBlaisd above.

Especially when I want to post it takes me enough time for me to go to the washroom and get a cup of coffee (after washing my hands) and it still has not loaded the page yet. I'm not rushing so it must take a few minutes.

and this precinct is reporting the exact same results at 3:25 pst

PSUhorty Jan 5, 2007 4:50 pm

... and this one reporting how ironic it was that I just had to wait for some time before this page loaded.

It is really becoming cumbersome to visit this place any more. Very, very frustrating.

cblaisd Jan 6, 2007 11:41 am

After being pretty fast much of the morning, it's back to the old slow-and-go cycle as described by so many.

Mary2e Jan 6, 2007 11:52 am

ditto... Before 12 EST it was acting normally. After 12 I got some of the same delays, though not quite as bad.

Global_Hi_Flyer Jan 6, 2007 5:38 pm

I've seen similar issues on one or two other boards that use VBulletin. FT seems to be worse than the others. I wonder if it's related to load somehow in combination with the software....

ssoul Jan 6, 2007 5:40 pm

The last few days it's been way slow for me.

the_traveler Jan 8, 2007 10:16 am

Today, it was moving sss-lll-ooo-www. So I signed off, and came back later. At first, it was fine, even when replying and previewing my reply. But as soon as I hit "submit reply" it was again slow! And all after that were slow.

I have even tried both "www" and "web3" - but neither is better.

cblaisd Jan 8, 2007 10:50 am

Argh. It took 41 seconds to load this page.

Tim at WebFlyer Jan 8, 2007 11:09 am

Thanks for the feedback all, this is something we are working on.

Tim at WebFlyer Jan 8, 2007 12:28 pm

We have made some adjustments to this, any feedback on performance you are seeing now and after I post this is appreciated. Thanks,

obscure2k Jan 8, 2007 12:52 pm

Still running quite slow..even on web2 and web3

cblaisd Jan 8, 2007 1:29 pm

Still with the intermittent molasses behavior.

This reply opened up instantly.

But clicking on the thread it took more than 30 seconds for it to open.

Edit: It took 15 seconds for this to post.

Edit at 1:38 PM, HOM time: I just clicked on the last post icon on this thread to get back to this post. Took 37 seconds to open.
