i believe my computer was infected, any advice from possibly others who were?

If you remember anything about the website/ad/whatever that it took you to try going to the McAfee, Norton or other major virus protection sites and see if you can locate a description of the virus there. They often post steps for removing and disinfecting your computer there even if you don't own their products. Good luck!

i believe i was able to remedy the problem with spyware doctor but is there any way of for sure knowing if your computer is infected?
