Ways to unsubcribe?

I usually unsubscribe from a thread when I get a posting. There is then an option on the Subscribed Thread box to unsubscribe. But a number of threads have died off but I don't know how to unsubscribe from them if they don't appear in the Subscribed Thread box. I'm sure there's a simple way to do this but I've been unable to figure it out.

There is no particular need to unsubscribe to inactive threads but if you want to do so, click on "MyFlyerTalk" and then click on "List Subscriptions" under the "Subscribed Threads" heading. You'll then see a list of all threads to which you've subscribed. Check the box alongside each thread for which you no longer want a subscription.

That was one of the avenues I took. But the boxes on the right side of that screen are for Notification with Instant being the check box option.

Are you saying that if I check the Instant box I will unsubscribe from that thread?

Here is how it works:

- Check the instant check box for the threads you don't want notifications.

- Scroll to the bottom and select 'delete subscriptions' from the drop down at the bottom of the thread list.

- Click the 'go' button next to the drop down you just selected.

That should take care of them.

On a similar, but different note:
I set up subscriptions to automatically subscribe me to any thread I post to. I'm now regretting this. How do I turn subscriptions off permanently (ie not manually deleting subscriptions)?
Thanks

Go to "List Subscriptions" in MyFlyerTalk.

There you can use the select all box at the top of listings, then go to the bottom of the page and select "delete subscriptions" and click Go. Note that you will have to repeat this for several pages of threads, though if you take out the more recent ones the you should be ok leaving the older ones in that they will not receive new posts very often. You could also go through all of them and get them all out of course as well. Thanks,

Hi Tim,

Thanks for your reply, but that much I'd figured out already. I'm wondering if there's any way to stop automatically subscribing to threads that I've posted to. I don't really want the subscriptions and it's kind of a pain to have to go in and delete them all every time I post.

Thanks,

GBadger

Got ya, I misunderstood what you were looking for. To change your setting for this go to "Settings & Options" > "Edit Options" > "Default Thread Subscription Mode" under MyFlyerTalk. Set that option to "Do not subscribe" and you should be all set.
