John at Webflyer, what is causing all these problems? Are the servers just overloaded, or are there coding issues that are being resolved? We're also rebuilding the webserver software on one of the machines (web1) looking to improve performance there. |
I'm getting this intermittantly as well, but if I refresh a time or two I get where I'm trying to go.

It'd be very helpful if we could check some sort of "network status" page when FT is down, so we know what the problem is and how long the estimated time is until FT will be back up. Here's a good example of a network status blog: http://admin.fastem.com/cgi-bin/fm-admin.pl http://status.fastmail.fm/ |

Still intermittent dropping out/cannot access. Even when on it is slow.

I'm assuming web1 is still being rebuilt, so web2 is taking all the load which is why it is very slow and not loading any of the graphics.

No matter which address is used. This reply took a minute to come up and then another two minutes to post. EDIT: But editing this note was lightning quick. |
Still slow in the evening.

Pinging flyertalk.com is dead
Pinging web1.flyertalk.com and web2.flyertalk.com works. But this (posted from web2) is still very, very slow in opening a thread and posting a reply. EDIT: It took over three minutes for this to post. |
For the past several days the site has been very slow. For several hours at least it was not responding at all.
Thanks for the tip about web2. I am using it now while www.flyertalk.com is being absolutely unresponsive. |
Flyertalk.com remains unreachable. web1 and web2 are intermittently reachable and exasperatingly slow.
http://64.78.185.92 is currently the fastest (but that's not saying alot) although it's not downloading all the graphics. I hope the tech folks can give us a thorough update. Thanks. |
This morning it wasn't loading at all for me and then in the last 5 mins web2 seems to be back intermittently.
I wonder if it's possible for the tech guys to post to some free web service or something about what is going on. I don't mean like 5 minute updates, but maybe if the database is down and it's going to take awhile, there can be a yahoo flytertalk page or something for network status. Just a thought. |
It's been awful for us over here in Europe today - even knowing some of the alternate addresses hasn't helped and I've been getting error messages more than i've managed to get access today :(
