flyer talk system problems?

In the last 36 hours there are times when I cannot get the page to load and was wondering if anyone else is having this problem or is it just my computer?
Thanks.

Yes. Extremely slow response if any at all.
There must be a system problem because if you get into the MR forum for instance you will notice that there might not be more than one post per hour. Not at all normal. I'm going to try to e-mail FT to see what they have to say. Maybe it's all this publicity the site got recently. Overloading system?

I've been having this problem for the last few days. At first I was cursing my school's network but then I had trouble at several other places.

I think it would be wise not to send emails to FT Admins as they already know about the problem and should be spared from hundreds of emails from users asking what is going on.

They did some server maintenance a few days ago and these problems (having them too) I suppose are are from that. FT brings me much value and it's free, can't complain.

I have noticed that it is getting hard to access FT. I hope it is fixed soon.

By the way, to the OP, don't be suprised if this thread is moved.

Not that it matters since my question has been answered but where would they move this post to just out of curiosity??

"Technical Issues" forum.

It is at the very bottom of the forum list. Also, the thread on there has stated that they are having database problems.

No cost but we do endure a heavy stream of ads. With all of the marketing revenue generated by this site, robust servers and generous bandwidth are not too much to ask..or complain about.

Actually I started coming to thius site in July and have found it very fast until yesterday--regardless of no cost--it must be a technical issue.

Perhaps you've missed our hosts previous statements that he runs FT at a loss, subsidized by his other projects.

Yes, I have missed that. It really depends on what is defined as "FT" and what are defined as "other projects." FT enables a lot of things. I guess that the accounting could be so discrete so as to be a "loss." Difficult to believe if ancillary revenues are included.

Its all about the consolidation.

Well, again, given what you pay for this service, there's not a lot of room for complaint, IMO. I'm sure that Randy and FT would happily refund your subscription fees if you're not happy with the server bandwidth.

Cheers.
