Is my imagination or are weekends more prone to the site being down?

Why did the site go down, and for so long? I thought hosting services typically monitor for trouble, and dispatch crews around the clock to fix problems?

Perhaps the forum maintenance slated for 11/12 turned up new issues that required the entire site to be taken down?

Could be! If it was, let's hope yesterday was the last of it, I hadn't realized how addicted I was to FT until then

Hopefully there will soon be a description of what happened

By the way: The search tool seems to be timing out on me when I search within the "Credit Card" forum
Follow-up: Seems to be back up now, just really slow

The database seems to have been repaired, as posts since Oct 17th are now searchable, so it's all for a good cause!

I sort of liked FT-Free Sunday. I read all of the NY Times (including last week's Book Review section) LA Times, finished reading new Scott Thurow novel and cooked a proper Sunday dinner.

I'm not having any problems with speed right now...and I noticed that my search seemed to return results much faster since the 'fix' happened!
