180 Days and 180 Posts?

Ok, so I'm a member for over 180 days and have over 180 posts and I still can't access OMNI. What's the deal?

Have you tried clearing your browsers cache? I don't know if this is the issue, but it would be one of the things I would try.

Your 180th post was very recent. Try logging out and logging back in.

We'd tell you but then we'd have to shoot you and that kind of defeats the program....
Seriously, as some of the other posters have said, OMNI will pop up for you soon enough.
I cruised through OMNI today and I might suggest that the airline and hotel Forums carry a lot more valuable info than does OMNI.
As a bit of unsolicited advice, hang around OMNI only as a diversion, spend the bulk of your time on the travel Forums and you'll be glad you did.

Not only has he posted in Omni, he posted an incredibly deceptive title in Omni and started the usual left vs. right fight and this was only his first post there. I can't wait for the rest

It's generally not advisable to hang around FT -- just long enough, to get just enough posts -- for the purpose of going to OMNI and then asking "when's it my turn?".

The title of the post was "Karl Rove Leaked Valerie Plame as CIA Agent" which was a rumor going around the publishing field last week. It has now been published by both the NY Times and the Washington Post. Thanks for the warm welcome.

It's confirmed now, and not when you posted it. And the title WAS deceptive.

Since it was your first post in Omni, and you were so desperate to get in, one can only assume it was to start fighting some political war, in which you succeeded.

So, yes, if your intent was to start MORE trouble, this time from the left, IMHO, you shouldn't be welcomed.

The system promotes users once daily.

After you meet the requirements to access a restricted forum, generally you will have access the next day.

Please explain HOW the title is deceptive? It is exactly what was reported. Also, if we had to wait for things to be published elsewhere before posting what we know to be true what is the purpose of the forum? Why read there what you can read elsewhere?

Thanks again for the warm welcome.

This is called OMNIcreep and the forum is actually titled Technical Issues. I think the question has been asked and answered - the original question that is. The question about Karl Rove will likely never be answered and will continue to be fodder in OMNI for years to come.

This thread is now closed.
