Somehow I suspect that is how it is meant to be... You need a certain amount of posts to PARTICIPATE in Coupon Connection, reading the forum is probably considered PARTICIPATION.
Just a guess...

Hmm - I guess Randy & Co. got it to work. If you don't qualify to participate in CC or Omni you can't even see it. I'm sure a lot of the coupon trolls are going to be out of luck

well, guess that explains why i can't see it either. Too bad i enjoyed reading it and was looking forward to 30 days passing so i could post there. Now it seems i have to post 100 times to even see it? Well, i normally just read and try and learn without posting but seems now will have to make an effort to post oh, around 95 more times just to read this? Are the moderators more interested in quantity of posts than quality, wonder if posts in the chat program count... anyone??

Correction: that should have read "...post 97 more times..." or 96 now i guess or would it be 95 now? What's a coupon troll? I was interested in coupon connection for trying to work out miles for a OW mileage ticket. Guess most people have a few coupons floating around, they're not using.

The owner of this site decided that it would be in everyone's best interest if only members who contribute are able to visit CC.

tele,
The posting requirement for CC are 30 registered days on FT.
The moderators of CC recommended that change to Randy some time ago... and he accepted that recommendation.
So, unless things just changed, you are not required to have 100 posts. You should expect to have access to CC on March 3rd or so.

Could there be a notice about not seeing Coupon Connection?
I'm usually logged in automatically when I go to FT, but this week I'm on a new machine. When I didn't see Coupon Connection, I just assumed it had been removed due to abuse, a la OMNI.
I looked around to see any explanation, but naturally most people don't find it missing, so not many threads on the subject, and I did not consider it to be a "Technical Issue", but more of "a decision from on high".
Some sort of notice would be helpful for those on new machines or who don't always log in.

Actually Coupon Connection is not related to a specific number of days at this time. We are in the middle of a rolling change to qualification and it's to become a surprise benefit for members of FlyerTalk over time - one in which we would hope that you don't strive to belong to FlyerTalk for, but rather earn by your contributions.
On May 5, FlyerTalk will become seven years old - started as a place where frequent flyers could meet and greet as well as talk about the sole topics of frequent flyer miles and points. To this day, though there have been subtle additions elsewhere to these topics, we still aspire to be the hub for all your information needs and contributions about the topics of miles and points... and travel. We want to be nothing more than this.
I'd probably forget you ever heard of Coupon Connection and let it remain one of the board's little secrets.
