"You last visited" inaccurate
I've run into two issues with "You last visited" (and, by extension, with which folders it shows me I have new messages in and with which messages it shows me as new within a folder):
1. I often access FT while doing other things, and thus may get interrupted. If I go away for too long, and come back, it has forgotten my previous "You last visited" and now thinks I "last visited" only an hour ago or whatever. I now have to manually compare the dates & times with the real "last visit" time (which I still can see if I Back up to a page which hasn't refreshed yet). Is there any way to customize how long it takes before it says my lapsed session is a new session?
2. I read a lot of sections, and especially if I post replies, it can take a while, even if I'm not interrupted for long periods. In that case, it doesn't mess up my "last visited" during my session, but when I come back the next day (or whenever) it says my "last visit" was close to the time I read the LAST folder, not the first one (which may have been, say, an hour earlier). So I still have to manually compare the times with how meach earlier I think I STARTED reading on my previous visit, or else I'll miss some threads where new posts happened during my previous visit. Is there any way around this, so that it'll record my "last visit" as the time I START my last visit, no matter how many folders I read?

The last visited results are based on a cookie that is set on your machine from our server. The cookie expires after 30 minutes of no activity (ie. clicking on a link within the boards) and is a system setting, not an individual user setting. If you open a lot of windows/tabs and/or spend longer than that reading all your threads without actually opening any more pages, your cookie will expire and the last visited will be inaccurate. Every time you click a link, the FT cookie is reset to that second. So, if you do have other windows open, if you click on links within those windows, it may give you unexpected results in the older windows you already have open when you navigate in those.
