Subscribing to forums not working?

Subscribing to forums not working?
I can't seem to get subscribe-to-forum to work. Forum-tools/subscribe-to-forum brings up a subscribe page, but I don't get the you-have-subscribed-success page that I *do* get if I subscribe to a thread. Has anyone gotten this to work?

I thought that we were supposed to be able to post automatic links to the the forums we most use in MyFlyerTalk. Maybe I misread the announcement but I looked forward to having some links so that I could get to my favored forums without scrolling all the way down. 
Now I have to click on airlines just to get a United link to open up--it was easier in the old days
