I've just flipped through the first two pages of the AC forum on my Android phone. I've looked at at least 15 threads that should have wikis, and another on the Canada forum, and not one of them shows up.

I'm happy to dump on Apple, but I just don't think that has anything to do with this problem.

Agree with Adam Smith on all counts -- I'm happy to dump on Apple :D but I am another Android user who does not see wikis in mobile mode. If I force Opera to show desktop mode, then I see them. Same thing in Chrome -- wikis do not appear in mobile skin, but do appear in desktop mode.

EDIT: I'm now using Chrome on my laptop, and even on a desktop browser, appending ?styleid=22 to the URL causes wikis to disappear. So the issue is clearly with the mobile skin implementation/coding of FT, not any particular platform like IOS or Android.

Dear IB, it's almost 2023, it's just ludicrous to ignore the mobile browser market when designing/testing features.

In particular, many long running threads have wikis with collected wisdom/info accumulated by FTers over the years. Newbies or people with common questions are often referred to the wiki as a resource of information. When they can't even see the wiki they're going to wonder what the heck people are talking about, and having a subpar experience turns people off from wanting to use FT in the future. So if nothing else, appeal to your bottom line...

(And this isn't even considering the long standing issue where because of *?#$@ infinite scroll you can't even see wikis in mobile unless you tap on << to go to the first page)

When viewing the mobile skin or the desktop version?

Desktop version. Granted I only looked at a couple while in bed yesterday morning, so I'm being intentionally vague as I was half asleep, but I definitely saw the NYE DO wiki and an AA wiki.

Please refer to my previous post :) The problem is particular to mobile skin, not Android/IOS platform.

I added a wiki to the current thread. Try viewing it in mobile: https://www.flyertalk.com/forum/tech...tml?styleid=22

compared to desktop: https://www.flyertalk.com/forum/tech...tml?styleid=24

for me, also using Chrome on Android.

No wiki in mobile:

but it appears if I force desktop (either from the Chrome menu or adding styleid=24)

Thanks Zorak for taking the time by pointing out the issue in detail to the developers, hopefully they’ll be able to rectify soon..

Several of the wikis have Last Revision dates of Dec. 31, 69. Nice.

But here’s the most appalling new fail: AFAICT it is no longer possible to view the wiki revision history. Please tell me it’s still there & I’ve just overlooked it. If this is a permanent, intentional change, I’m done creating & editing wikis.

KARFA Dec 19, 2022 7:33 am

I agree. I am honestly not sure I can be bothered spending my own time creating and maintaining guide threads with wikis if this is the contempt we are held in by IB. I don't expect thanks, but equally I don't expect my hard work just to be thrown in the bin by a group of developers who clearly think messing up this forum is some kind of joke.

OK, the "wiki" icon should now be reappearing. Please bear with me on mobile functonality and other quirks I'm seeing.

OK Tech is saying we can't get collapsing on wikiposts with images. I'm going to keep trying to make that happen, but just be aware that that is likely going to take awhile.

I did find a workaround. Click the blue arrow in the top right to completely collapse the wikipost.

Also, the lock/hide icons have been restricted to at least admins

Able to edit wiki. Title for wiki section and last mod date are still incorrect.

Why was revision history removed/hidden? I can’t believe anyone asked to have that taken away.

Ah thank you for the reminder. I read someone's post about that missing earlier, but forgot to report it. I will do so now.

It's also often difficult to gauge why things happen. Most often, plug-ins and products are updated by someone without our (yours, mine, or tech's) input and we're all left wondering, "Who the Hell approved that?"
