And I do understand that several people have probably been working hard on the redesign, and I am not trying to crap on their efforts. And more people may like the new design than don't, it just strikes me as a solution in search of a problem.
Essentially, we want to make things a little cleaner (and obviously YMMV on that design front, I totally get it), while standardizing the menu for Expert Hotel Reviews, Articles, and the Forum.

Heavy database errors for the last hour or so.

Today's attempt to implement the new design does not appear to be working.

Lots of database and Cloudflare errors and the site is extremely slow - on the off-chance that a page actually loads.

We didn't implement the design. We generally don't make changes right before weekends (especially long ones) and we aren't working on weekeneds.

Huh. I made that comment because when the errors were occurring, when I would hit reload, the new banner design would load for a second or two before reverting back to the error.

Was this on the news/articles or on the forums?

I honestly don't know. I was trying to get into this forum and was hitting 'back' and 'reload' numerous times trying to get a page to load.

You guys are probably aware of this, but have been getting "fatal" PHP/stack-type errors all morning.

Seems to have cleared up a few minutes ago.

Edited.

It seems to have cleared up - again - a few minutes ago.

I don't know if it's a database error or what, but I keep writing out posts and hitting "post quick reply", after which the page will reload without submitting my post, and the text I wrote out is gone.

No error code, no nothing, just gone. It's happened five or six times this week.

Mac 10.14.6 + Firefox 89.0.2.

Visiting son and using Firefox. Logged on to my FT account.

Click on articles from various airline index pages, I am getting random "403 Not authorized" pages
When refreshed it presents the correct referenced page.
No issues with posting

Thank for not wandering
Fred

Edit:
cut and paste of the message "403 Unauthorized"
