"Like" button not working

I have no ability to "like" anyone's post anymore, though at one point it used to work. The Like appears to be a functional link, but doesn't activate. This occurs on multiple browsers using desktop running Windows. Is only a problem with FlyerTalk website, not any other using vbulletin.

On the mobile site, I often have to reload the screen to "activate" the Like button. Not sure why, but it works consistently when the Like button is inert on my phone.

For me it's hit and miss. Sometimes the Like works, sometimes it doesn't. I live with it.

What are you using, full or mobile? Device, browser, OS? Curious, I’ve not experienced that iirc.

Just tried to like your post--successful. Am on full site, desktop, Windows using Chrome browser. Interesting, yesterday and most of the past few weeks, it didn't work. And that was on Chrome, Firefox, and Brave. But on my phone (Android 9.0), like button has always worked (Chrome and Brave).

Maybe it's just a weird intermittent gremlin. It's not a dealbreaker for using the site, just wondered if I'd been black-balled and my "liking" privileges revoked, heh-heh.

I have this problem all the time. Clicking "Like" does absolutely nothing.
The solution is to refresh the page. Sometimes more than once.
I thought that maybe it had something to do with auto page scrolling and getting lost on "long" scrolls. But I've also noticed it on small threads where I'm trying to "Like" only the 3 or 4th post or so.
The only consistent thing I've noticed about it is that it's inconsistent.

Windows 7, desktop, Chrome

I occasionally have the same issue (Windows 10 PC and Chrome). I've just tried again and within the same thread, it looks as though I can like some posts, but not others. The URL that the 'like' links point to are in a different layout:

This won't work: //www.flyertalk.com/forum/#
But this one will: //www.flyertalk.com/forum/british-airways-executive-club/2013951-why-won-t-ba-let-you-get-refund-via-website-5.html#

nb I removed https: from the start of both URLs so that they display properly in this post

The hash/pound sign simply indicates that a small change has occurred without leaving the page. You can also see it in action if you click on a section in the contents of a Wikipedia page
page.

Also, do you have infinite scroll enabled?

Ah, okay - when I hover the cursor over any 'like' link, the address 'preview' always shows with a hash at the end.

I think that I do have infinite scroll enabled - if you mean that when I scroll up from the bottom of a multi page post, I can scroll right to the top.

Edit: I've just gone back to the thread in the links above. If I move from page to page using the prev/next page navigation keys, I always get the longer link URLs which I think will work. However, if I go to the last page and then scroll up continuously, then I start seeing the shorter links, which won't work.

Problem with "Like" button

Anybody have issues with a post's Like link? It works on some posts but not others even when the post was created 30 minutes ago.

This is what I have observed when using an Android cell phone:

The threads are broken down into "pages" of 40 posts each. When you start scrolling down, whether from page 1, a specified page, or the first unread post, the URL on your cell phone browser will include a component indicating that page.

Thereafter, as you scroll up or down, if you cross a multiple of 40 posts (new page), hitting the "Like" link will not work.

If you refresh the URL by hitting the URL at the top of your browser, then the link will become live again.

This needs to be done every "page". Timing of the posts is irrelevant.

P.S. Moderator, please move this post, if warranted.
