OMNI search tool not functioning right

The search tool appears to not be picking up much. Yesterday I did a search for the 'Longest without sleep thread' and couldnt find it and today i was looking for a thread I started a couple of months ago

I even resorted to leaving the box at the top blank so it should give me all the OMNI threads I've commented on in the last year. It only seems to have brought up 6 threads which is obviously incorrect.

Is this because of the archiving going on?

This question is probably more appropriate in the Technical Issues section... I sincerely doubt the FT technical teams reads OMNI to find out about technical problems...

The problem could have been caused by the pruning process. It could also be UBB's jacked-up search script, as we've had a number of problems and errors with it.

We're in the process of moving over to another software package, so hopefully this won't be an issue soon.

Sorry I wasn't expecting a technical person to come to OMNI to find it. Merely looking to see if my suspicions about whether the reason behind it is due to the archiving

I just rebuilt the search index for OMNI. Something must have gone wrong with it's rebuild yesterday that we didn't see. You should find the correct results there now... Thanks,

Tim

I tried to access pages http://www.flyertalk.com/travel/fttr.../014467-2.html
thru
http://www.flyertalk.com/travel/fttr...14467-135.html, which broke away from the original Who Will Be Next FlyerTalker to Post? An OMNI Game, but I keep getting the Page Not Found error.

Are all 135 pages gone forever?

I think so. That thread became corrupted last month or so, and I advised that people save the static HTML pages before they get deleted by the system on the next rebuild, which we just did.
