Corrupt OMNI thread
http://www.flyertalk.com/travel/fttr...ML/016911.html
is corrupt. I posted a reply on there this afternoon; the OMNI index page shows the time of the last reply as the time I made the reply, but the reply does not show when I open the thread. Yes, I refreshed.
Getting a little paranoid here, as I posted to the "Streets" thread in TravelBuzz about the time it got corrupted, and to the Word Association thread about the time it got corrupted as well . . .

The mammoth 136-page Who Will Be Next FlyerTalker To Post? An OMNI Game thread is now corrupted. I figured only several days ago that this would happen.
New posts are being added to it on page 136 and the thread topic moves to the top position on page 1 in the OMNI forum, but one cannot actually access page 136 or the posts on page 136.
Also, I attempted several times to edit a post of mine on page 135 but it refused to let me do so.
Can this thread be saved, dan at WebFlyer?
Should this thread be saved?!?
----------------------
UPDATE
The posts that are supposed to be on page 136 are replacing the posts on page 1, as if starting the thread all over again!
Is 135 pages the maximum number of pages an Infopop thread can have before it apparently starts over again???
----------------------
By the way, has there ever been a thread in the history of FlyerTalk that was longer than 136 pages? If so, what happened to it (them)?
I realize that a 136-page thread that has little to do with points and miles (although points and miles have been discussed in that thread!) is of low priority, so I understand if it may be some time before this problem is resolved.
Thank you in advance, by the way, for your assistance, dan at WebFlyer.

I don't think we've had threads hit that size before, although the Word Association Threads have gotten pretty large. Personally, I'm surprised the thread made it to 136 pages, considering it's all flat-file based, as well as UBB's other problems.
Unfortunately, that thread is way too long to rebuild manually. I've fixed the corruption in the thread and rebuilt it, but it looks like you're starting over again at page 1.
If you want, you can manually archive the old pages
http://www.flyertalk.com/travel/fttr.../014467-2.html
thru
http://www.flyertalk.com/travel/fttr...14467-135.html
for your personal use, but as this reset thread grows, those old pages will be written over, so grab them fast if you want them.

I guess this software has been tested to its limits, if I understand you correctly.
I simply have one question: When you say archive, do you mean copy and paste, or is there some special method or way of archiving pages manually about which I do not know as of yet?
I have a Macintosh G4 computer, if that makes any difference.
Again, thank you for your assistance, dan at WebFlyer.

Check VersionTracker.com for Mac-related software...
And, of course, if you're a programmer, you could write something that pulls down the pages automatically.
