I also got a reply the next working day. However, I tried posting there before the reply came and was allowed to. Either there's a lag between activation and notification, or I had been pre-registered - which I understand from other threads is not that unusual. You might want to try posting now in case you were.

For those that portray OMNI to be a social club, sorry to dissapoint you. The only purpose to changing the way that members can post in OMNI is to filter out spammers and those that spoof other members with instantly created memberships to flame others. It also, as noted elsewhere, allows us to suspend a member solely in the OMNI forum in more real time if their behavior warrants such. We've found that some members are mild-mannered when it comes to information of miles and points but then flame out in OMNI over a topic of renown. Balancing the two types of topics (miles and points vs. today religion topics and the politics of the California recall) require us to be reasonable and above all understanding. Reminds me of people I know that are among the best in the world in every day life but if they get around alcohol they become a whole other person. This approach is to keep some away from the alcohol and let them live on as great contributors to FlyerTalk on topics we love to hear most about - miles, points and travel.
Some suggestions from members we passed on: never reopening OMNI and charging members money to post in OMNI or requiring members who post in OMNI to have a 'legit' email address, not one from yahoo or hotmail, etc. What say you about our choice to allow members to continue to enjoy OMNI? I am personally convinced the changes are for the right reasons - the members themselves and their right against posting harassment.</font>

Hi,
Just how long does it take for an OMNI posting privilege request to be approved? I submitted my request to [email protected] 1 or 2 times, the last one being on Saturday, I think.
Thanks!

Wow! It must be tougher than I thought to get in there!
I guess that I'm glad now that I did not even apply and attempt to secure permission to post there!

Seriously, however, FWIW, there would appear to be some technical problem from what I know!
My guess would be that you will hear at any time!

Hope it all wprks out for you and very quickly too!
Have a great day!

Guess I won't win the "Guess the Next Poster" thread contest.

Thanks anyway!

There has been no technical problems at all regarding this. I think most of the few hundreds that are enjoying OMNI would say their posting privilege was granted either instantaneously, within a few hours or directly after a weekend. There have been a hadful so far that have not been granted posting privileges and have been encouraged to contribute and enjoy the purpose of FlyerTalk regarding miles, points and travel.
As for ua_eagle. Strange, first real complaint we've had from anyone and upon research..... we show no record of every having received a request from you for posting privileges as sent to [email protected]
There are no filters on that address so we are getting exactly what was sent. Perhaps a problem on your email client but please feel free to send a request. Truth is, we're not all that picky about who posts in OMNI, just picky about members who can't repsect other members.
Looking forward to your request ua_eagle.
