for someone with 41 posts you are sure grousing a lot about a FREE service....maybe the tech team is busy this weekend and you could try to live with it...

As the AA Forum is one fo the largest on flytalk, I was attempting to help ALL of the users of the AA Forum, myself included.
Your comment implies that only large message count contributors should be allowed to add messages to Flyertalk. What would Randy say to your distorted logic of a COMMUNITY based forum?
The goal of my message was to have SOMEONE alert the Flytalk staff that they have a techicnal problem with one of their largest forums. I believe that all the users of the AA Forum would really appreciate any efforts to get it back online. Even if a low message count lurker has to do the alarm sounding.

Brandy,
Did you, yourself, send a message to Randy's technical team to make them aware of the problem?
They do not monitor the boards 24/7 and have stated that they appreciate it when members alert them to board problems.
I will send a message to Dan right now EVEN though I do not read the AA forum.
William

Thanks, wharvey. I'm at ORD on the way home and came over to this forum to see what's going on, as I wanted to post a message on the AA forum.

the long version - , you've posted in technical issues, you posted in community (which is the forum for get- togethers, not complaints about downtime ) , you've called FT - yet you didn't bother to learn enough about FT to learn the most basic process for emailing tech staff.
In addition, you are complaining that NOTICE wasn't sent to users about the forum being down. This is a free service to FT'ers - the fact that one forum is down is of course important, but I don't think anyone around here expects a personal email when FT has a problem.

I tried again at 10:08 MDT and got in; but I posted nothing so my entry will not show up. But, it must have been a fluke because, best I could tell, there was only one post there all day.
Went to Post Reply in this thread; and, after writing this, tried to get back in via another browser but was unsuccessful.
That's it for tonight. Hope the problem is solved by tomorrow.

Back in this morning at 7:22 EDT. Still slow - a post took several minutes to update the page. Expect situation to worsen during the day as more users access the forum? Good luck.

Ah, the irony -- not only is the AA forum down, but my AAdvantage statement online is showing all zeroes -- they must be down for maintenance, too!
