Is flyertalk forums availble via NNTP?

I like to read many of the flyertalk forums but I would love if I could do so offline with a newsreader like Outlook Express. Is that possible?

Thanks to all for your feedback.

Flyertalk is only available via the web. NNTP or Usenet is a completely separate protocol from the web.

Unfortunately, despite NNTP being far better suited to newsgroups like this, most people set up systems like this on the web instead.

It's a great shame, since many of the features of NNTP (cross-posting, etc) are missing from these web versions. In addition, the web pages are bloated with lots of unnecessary text, banners, etc, so that it's much, much slower than NNTP as well.

In over a decade, we've gone backwards.

Some of us are behind corporate firewalls which allow HTTP but not NNTP. If this was an NNTP site, many of us will be locked out.

I can understand that if you are behind a firewall a newsgroup setup like this one is good. But why not offer both technologies to this great newsgroup.

Just a wish from one that loves NNTP.

Have a great day. :-)

Imagine the spamming possibilities with NNTP.

Oh wait, we see lots of spam already!
