POP Ups on FT ?

I just had some advertisement pop up and open a new screen for me.

I closed it without even taking any notice until I realised that I was only on FT, so it came from this website.

I am NOT impressed to see POP Ups here

Any chance you had just come from another site? I know several sites that throw pop ups at you when you leave, Sports Illustrated being one example that comes to mind.

Moving this to Technical Issues so the website staff can review.

I don't believe that it was from any other website - I try and avoid websites that have popups (especially at work).

The only website that i knowingly visit that has popups is yahoo.com, and it definitely wasn't that site.

I am really irritated by the "Six Continents...Priority Club" ad that pops up extremely often while I am viewing the Webflyer website! If it would appear once or twice in a session, that would be okay. But, at times, it appears every 30-60 seconds. It is not associated with any other website, just this one. Please, turn down the frequency. Thanks.

I'll check with our ad company about a popup on FlyerTalk; they've been told before not to run any type of popup/under on FlyerTalk.

What was the popup ad for? If you notice any more, let us know what they were for, so it'll be easier to track down on our advertiser's end...

As for the WebFlyer 6 Continents popup, they're supposed to have that cookied so it doesn't show up more than 2-3 times per user... I'll check on that as well.

Thanks. It seems to be better.

The 6 continent pop-up appears every time I go to another forum to read posts. I just installed some 'pop-up' remover software & will see if that works. I would prefer to pay a membership to have access to this site than to have to deal with pop-ups - please reconsider the wisdom of using these obnoxious things!
Thanks, Lynne

Last night I was getting the usual 6-continents pop-ups AND American Airlines popups intersperced. These ads obviously targeted to/from this website. I agree with others above that if they only showed up when you signed on to the site that would be okay but to have them pop-up everytime you move around the site is a turn off and will result in much lower traffic to this site.
