I have to admit I never really used to go there, but I don't seem to have a lightbulb either.... I tried clearing my cookie, but alas, still no lights...
BTW: Another problem I have in Omni is that when I post to a thread and after posting UBB takes me back to my post I can't see it, I have to go to the top of omni and then go back into my post to view it... weird... I think it's NO releated

Same problem as cblaisd and svpii (below): when accessing the Travel forums from Miles, all of the Travel forums' light bulbs are lit up, but the folders on the inside indicate nothing new. A bit strange.
FWIW: IE 5.01 on Mac OS 9.2
Edited for "clarity".

I have the opposite problem -- almost always have ALL lightbulbs lit in Travel, even when there are no new posts in a particular forum since my last visit.
Can someone shed some light on this....

I've had better success with accessing Travel via this URL:
http://flyertalk.com/travel/fttravel...ssCookie=false
The key word seems to be "false", at the end.

This is also my experience - ALL the light bulbs lit, but click on the forum - and usually NO new threads..
And while I have the floor... whenever I click on a link contained in a thread - one which opens a new browser window - when I close it and go back to the forums, all the lights have been dimmed... it drives me nuts and I can't figure out what causes that. Does opening the new browser essentially reset the cookie?

Dan (and others...) There is an option in UBB regarding the setting of cookies when running multiple UBB's on one domain:
Cookie Option
If you are setting up more than one UBB on a domain, you should elect to have cookies set to the precise directory that that UBB is running in. If you are only running one UBB on your domain, then you can set your cookies more broadly. The default is to set BROADLY.
It looks like you have that option set incorrectly as I receive the same cookie for all the seperate boards on FT.... That would certainly explain why it thinks all the posts are new...

Scott, I'll see what the others here have to say about that. We did mess with the cookie scope when we relaunched FT back in July, since the previous setting caused some problems. That may have caused some other weirdness...
UPDATE:
Yeah, that was something we looked into last year, and the reason we do a broad cookie is to (hopefully) prevent the need to login again to each Forum (Travel, Miles, etc) while you're on FT. Because of what we're doing with UBB (multiple boards, BUT pulling from a central userbase), we're stuck in the middle. The example you give above is meant for multiple boards that are standalone (separate userbases), but we're not using UBB in that sense

If you've already done the cache-clearing thing and reset your FlyerTalk cookies (including those set under the Travel Forum) and you're still having the "no lightbulb" problem, you've done all we can suggest...
