Need Browser/Cookie Need

Sorry, that should read "Need Browser/Cookie Help"

After the main FlyerTalk Miles page loads showing yellow folders for those forums with new posts, after I visit a forum and then hit my BACK button to go back to the main page, all the yellow folders are gone.

Same thing happens within a forum. Hit BACK and yellow light bulbs are gone.

Got a new laptop. Set the settings on Internet Explorer 6.0 for Windows XP Home Version, to "Check for newer versions of web pages: Every time you start up Internet Explorer."

These are the same settings that I used on my old computer, but now it's not working like I would like.

What am I doing wrong? What setting do I need to change to get it to work right?

Would appreciate help from anyone, not just Colorado Springs folks.

PremEx, I don't have a specific solution to your dilemma, however for troubleshooting and process of elimination I would try the following in this order:

Set your IE 6.0 browser to check for newer versions of stored pages "Every visit to the page." Reboot and give that a try.

If that doesn't solve your problem, there's always a possibility that your FlyerTalk cookies may be corrupt. Go to:

FlyerTalk/preferences/Click here to delete all cookies set by this forum!

I believe it will be necessary to reset your various FlyerTalk preferences after deleting those cookies. Once again, I would reboot and take it for a test drive.

If the cookie deletion and re-entering your preferences solve the problem, it should then be safe to go back and set your browser to your original setting of "Check for newer versions of stored pages: Every time you start up Internet Explorer." On a board as active as FlyerTalk, I personally prefer the "Every visit to the page" setting. Of course clicking Refresh accomplishes the same thing on an as needed basis.

If these two troubleshooting suggestions do not solve your problem, one of our FlyerTalk experts can chime in with the solution.

If you keep on doing what you've been doing, you will keep on getting what you've been getting.

Thanks MrLimo.

I did just follow your instructions to no avail.

But it is now only happening when I go from a forum back to the main page.

No longer from thread back to forum.

Strange.
