No One Can Sign Up For FT Anymore?
OK, I'm just reporting the news here, but in the past 3 weeks, TWO friends that I pointed to FT have registered with you, and every single time they tried to log in, you told them that their username or password was invalid.
I don't take such things to heart, but to be sure, I also tried to register a (fake) user name, password, and guess what? I got the same dang thing. Now, FT, I KNOW that I have the password correct--you emaile it to me!!
So, the logical conclusion is, you SAY you have registered, but you ARE NOT ALLOWED IN!!
Wanna tell me just what the heck is goin' on here?
If you are not accepting any more folks registering, I think you could at least have the common decency to tell them...PRIOR to their going thru the registration process.
You have embarrassed me really severely..I mean, after expounding this web site, now I get this. Wanna tell me what I should explain to them?
Or not?
i cant believe this

hnechets,
relax.
We don't know of problems with our site unless someone notifies us of it, or we run across it ourselves. My team has a very wide range of skills, but none of us profess to being psychic.
Now that you've let us know there's a problem with the login, I'll go check it out.

I just registered this account, and it's working for me. (btw, this is dan)
We do have occasional errors with user accounts, more than likely due to the size of the data files that UBB uses; another reason we're looking for a replacement. These errors are temporary, though... if you're getting refused access:
1. Make sure your password is entered exactly as it appears in the confirmation email, as they are case sensitive.
2. Check the spelling and case-sensitivity of your username as well...
3. If you're still having login errors, wait a few minutes, and try again...
4. If you still can't get it, send us an email ([email protected])
As with any other technical problem, we ask that people let us know about it, so we can act on it.

HHHmmm.... I believe Randy should feel insulted...
Dan, I have had at least eight colleagues sign up in the last two weeks... and they did not have any problem.

Dan at Webflyer:
Thanks for checking on this for me. I realize that I sounded more than a bit strident last night, and I do apologize. I prob'ly should have sent you all an email instead of posting it. Again, I apologize.
BTW, it was maybe a problem of not waiting long enough, as my friends were able to get in. I told them to try doing something like updating their profile instead of making a "dummy" post and cauing more static on the board.
I think that your trying another handle was perfectly since it was a one-time only deal, and you clearly identified it as such when you posted. However, in the interest of avoiding the multiple handles thing, I will not try another post under the handle I registered under...which was x. Feel free to remove that account from FT.
And thanks again for trying to run this down for me!
