UA board access (starting oct-4)
since yesterday evening (swiss time 11PM - ET 5PM, Wednesday) very, very slow on both browsers: Netscape, Explorer from home) - and now the same from my office (4-5 minutes to open the Forum - otherwise 1 to 2 seconds).

I just called my lawyer and asked him to claim some reimbursements from FlyerTalk for making a fool out of me by multiple postings of the same at http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/Forum50/HTML/003132.html (reason: the posts didn't show for 5-10 minutes, so I reposted and reposted ...).

LOL!!! You guys are way too much sometimes...that's one of the things I love about my job, the FT community...even when times are rough you can always depend upon somebody to lighten the load a little and that is a good thing, I think.
So how's United fairing this morning? It came up very fast and reliably for me this just now, how about you?
Also, if you can tell me where those repeat postings are at I'll go and take care of them for you.
Thanks you for your patience and your support.

The United forum is still running way slower then other parts of FT. I just ran a test and United took 23 seconds to open (from this forum). I ran a comparison to the USAir forum, and that only took 3 seconds. I then went to a site ( http://computingcentral.msn.com/topi...peedtest50.asp )that checks my connection speed and this was the result:
Your line speed:
196.2 Kbps
24 K bytes/sec
I am running IE5.5

Michael, here's my test this morning.
On a T-1 line in my office, all other forums come up in the 'blink of an eye', literally.
UA Forum took 42 seconds to load & display.
I did the same test that Craig did. My stats:
Your line speed:
741.8 Kbps
90.9 K bytes/sec

Put in a reply about an hour ago, and no word from the UA forum since (no acknowledgement of the post, either, but I didn't resubmit). Maybe someone doesn't want people to know about the unsecret room at SMF or the unsecret secret room at MSY or the semi-secret room at STL or the secret unsecret secret room at PVD.

Bummer! I guess I opened my mouth way too soon. I thought we had this one licked but it looks like we haven't. I guess it's going to be much more involved than I thought. Please "continue" to bear with us as continue down this long and bumpy road.
Thanks for your support. Keep the feedback coming as it is very helpful.

UA forum stopped dead right now for me. Same problem as last week - no topics at all unless you fiddle with the "show all topics" grid. Few minutes veryt sllllooowwwlllyyy it worked correctly.
RUDI - just curious why you need to have two user ID's, and used the one with no email contact to commence this thread?

well, my 'Papst' handle was intended to be used once only , in a humurous reply to a poster who called me Papst, and than in two other replies I forgot to change the (automated) handle back. ok?
