Where's the SOUND???

I know,I know... I just won't leave this alone but it REALLY irritates me that the sound features went away for most of us and I can't get FT technical types to provide an answer from digichat as to why and if there is a fix. I have current versions everything and have been asking this question for months. Without sound, you can't keep the chatroom minimized and be aware if someone enters the room if you are doing something else on your computer. I think it would really help participation. How about just replying as to whether you have had sound when you were in the chat room? I'm being told I'm an isolated case and I know that isn't true!

Actually, I answered your question when you asked it in another forum and the answer is located here: http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/Forum1/HTML/003483.html

My apologies for the inconvenience.

my bad, Michael! I apologize for missing that.. it's so frustrating that digichat has a system that isn't compatible with windows! What OS are you running? Since most of the world operates in windows, how can almost everyone have sound?

svpii...no problem, it's a big board and fairly easy to lose track of what's up here.

I know how you feel, I'm pretty aggrevated about the lack of sound in the chat area. It's particularly strange since Windows is not the side that usually has problems of this type due to everyone developing for it and neglecting all the other wonderful systems out...all, that is, except DigiChat.

Hopefully they'll have it fixed very soon. I'm on top of it and they will hear from me everyday if need be...until they get it done. We may even look for other chat solutions if this one keeps going the way that it has recently. We've looked at other solutions but believe it or not this is one of the better ones out there.

Chat is a hot topic, and you would think that a lot of companys would be right there in developement but not nearly so many as you might think.

Anyway I'll keep you informed. Thanks for your continued patience and support.

P.S. I'm operating on a PC running Windows 98 by the way.

you're too gracious, Michael! Especially w/ me busting your chops for not replying when you had!

SO just to continue beating a dead equine... you have sound, right? And you're running windows 98? But the problem is supposedly browsers operated in a windows environment? There must be another variable then? Is the problem windows AND something else - like a particular browser? Or did I misunderstand you when you said you had sound in your offices?
