profile problems for everyone?

since about 15 minutes ALL profiles are empty, they only show:

Profile for
Search: All posts by this registered user.
Date Registered: Not available.
Status:
Total Posts:
Current Email:
Homepage:
Occupation:
Location:
Interests:
ICQ Number:

In add, when I want to change my profile now, the system answers "no such user known".

And what is the ICQ Number ?

And can I use the search function "Search: All posts by this registered user", or is this only for the system-operator?.

Looks like it's fixed now - everything looks better now so it will probably an upgrade.

I checked my profile and all the info that I put in is there.

But another strange technical thing is happening: Some of the entries show a different typeface the writer as "member" or "Junior Member" in postings that I have NOT posted in. But the ones with mine have the original typeface.

This is strange. Could the Webmasters explain what's happening?

ALso when I put a sad face like it comes out blue, not red. Which I don't mind because blue's my colour anyway!!! CATMAN

"ICQ" (I Seek You) is a program that allows members (of ICQ) to list other ICQ members, and then alerts one ICQ member when an ICQ member the first one listed is on line at the same time. Hard to follow? Sorry - not enough coffee yet.

What it does is this: If baobab and I are both ICQ members, and I enter her ICQ number on my list, when I am on-line and she logs on, I am alerted and can chat with her.

Here's the "real scoop":

WHAT IS ICQ (I SEEK YOU)?

The ICQ program overcame the main obstacle that prohibited the Internet from becoming a truly real-time, two way, interactive, person-to-person global communication system.

The ICQ program enables you to "dial" anyone on the Net at your discretion, without having to make any prior arrangements with him or her. In fact, the recipient of the call needs only to install this program. There after, he or she will always, when on the Internet, be alerted when you are contacting him/her. The program will indicate to you, who of your list of designated frequent contacts, is logged-in at any given point in time, ready to receive Internet communications.

With ICQ you can initiate communication with anyone on the Internet at anytime, be it by text, voice, graphics, video or games. You can even send entire URLs. Messages are delivered directly to the recipient's computer, without the need for downloading.

If the recipient is "logged in", he or she can respond immediately and open a direct line of communication with you. If not, your message will be saved and be made available to the recipient as soon as he or she comes on line.

No longer will you search in vain for friends or associates on the net. ICQ does the searching for you, alerting you in real time when they sign on, thus eliminating the need to conduct a directory search each time you want to communicate with a specific person.

ICQ runs in the background and allows you to work and play on other applications while keeping track of incoming messages as well as the log-in status of your Internet associates.

DOWNLOADING: If you wish to download our Windows 95, Windows NT, Windows 3.x, Mac or Java versions you can download a copy of the program or for more information regarding ICQ, see our homepage at http://www.mirabilis.com

For those of you familiar with AOHell Instant Messenger -- ICQ is similar but BETTER because it is live -- you can actually see the keystrokes of the other party. Downside is that it has grown so much that their servers can't always handle the load.

It's a great thing for the kids to use to stay in touch with people far away. Me? I want my miles so I pick up the phone!

I'm with you, although my AT&T points go to my Marriott Rewards account. (for free stays!)

I know people who swear by ICQ and those who don't mind AOL like myself. If anyone's interested in signing up for AOL I-M let me know... (I'm on board and it's fun to talk to my friends virtually live!) CATMAN
