Flyertalk is deliberately blocking VPN traffic with Cloudflare, it isn't difficult to identify VPN IP addresses as most households don't have thousands of simultaneous connections to HBO or BBC iPlayer.
It comes down to why you're using a VPN Start at 6:08 If you need the anonymity of sharing an IP address with so many other subscribers that disaggregating your traffic is nearly impossible you're further ahead with a commercial VPN. If you don't just roll your own OpenVPN server with your very own IP address that will probably fly under the radar, although some websites block the IP ranges of cloud providers to block data miners. |
No problem here.

I have the same problem - with both AC and ExpressVPN (also using Open VPN servers with both of those accounts). Unfortunately turning off my VPN is not a great option as I am based in China. That means that without the VPN turned on pages either hang or load slowly as a result of embedded calls to services and other dynamically loaded code/styles on sites that are blocked here in China. The number of VPN servers that work here in China is also limited so I don't have the luxury of just choosing another server ... Very frustrating!

I'll see what we can do, but if this is a Cloudflare-based issue, we may have limited options
|
I'm taking a look at how we may be able to accommodate VPNs more. I believe it's Cloudflare and not us directly

OK, so we've added a couple whitelists to the site. The issue with these services are they use multiple colocation facilities that have been banned for excessive crawl rates.
So we're not opening up unwanted bad actors, tech suggests being assigned a static IP by you VPN service and if I those over to tech, we can whitelist them. (You'd have to either PM me or post stating that you're using your static IP and I can pull it form the post data) |

Yep, I'm having the same issue using NordVPN. FT automatically thinks I'm up to nefarious mischief until I turn off the VPN. And yes, the error message comes from Cloudflare.

CloudFlare blocks ExpressVPN servers/IPs for some larger counties (including the US servers), but using a server located in a smaller country works fine.

Connected to an Indonesian server, and it worked. Strange. |
I am now blocked from FT by Cloudflare for using StrongVPN. I use VPN when connected to unsecured wifi in hotels and airports.

Still not working for me yet. Using Auto IP
