Not getting TalkMail
 

I have seen references to TalkMail but never really looked into it. I did today and now wonder why I haven't been getting it via my gmail? I get subscription alerts to new posts and private messages but that is the only FT email I have ever gotten. I am set to receive mail from admins in my settings. How do I subscribe to TalkMail?

When was the last "issue" of Talkmail sent out as I haven't rec'd one one in (to use a youngun's expression) like forever

TM is every 2 weeks (almost like clockwork) -- latest went out on 6/11 (Last Tuesday). Before that, 5/29 and 5/14.

Be sure your email address is up to date in your profile, check your SPAM folder, and sign up again using the link on the Home Page.

If you still don't get one next week, let me know & we'll see what's what.

If you want me to forward you any of those last few issues, lemme know!

My e-mail hasn't changed since I signed up for F/t back in 2004 and I checked that it is still in my F/t profile and that F/t was not inadvertently flagged as spam so I'm going to "re-up" via the home page and see what happens with the next issue on or about 6/28 and then let you know (unless you can check for any bounce backs)

edited to add: Just tried "re-upping" using my e-mail address and it "failed" because my e-mail is already on file so now I'm stumped

Same as above for me too. It says I am already signed up yet I have not received a single one. Spam not the problem (checked). This was my fail message. Any ideas?

And can you check for me as well :) and as an aside, I had a problem with a friend's e-mail a few years back where my provider* flagged her provider as spam and was heading it off so I'm wondering if that may/might be the case here as well

*my provider is pacbell.net (aka at&t.net which is run by [for lack of a better term] yahoo mail

Email problems are notoriously hard to resolve because there are SO many places (most of which are out of our hands) where they could snag. I'll see if you're on the opt-out list, but I know the emails go out to all who are subscribed; after that, there's very little we can do.

Ok and I'm going to have a fellow member forward me their next issue of TM which I will fwd to my provider to see if anything is going on on their end but can you do me a favor and send me an e-mail via FT to see if I get that as if I don't receive it, then it leads me to believe that my provider is doing something

Looks Like I didn't receive the latest issue of Talkmail as I rec'd a fwd from a fellow member but nothing in my inbox or spam folder as her's was sent at 04:09PDT this morning and in looking at the "F/t sending address", it was sent from "[email protected]" which appears to be a different domain from the test e-mail you sent earlier (iirc, ftforums or something similar) Any way to see if it bounced back tho my gut is telling me that my provider is blocking it and I'm gonna call them to try and find out (but my gut is also telling me that won't get me far)

You never know -- sometimes it's just a dude who can add you to a whitelist. If your provider's really big, like ATT or a cable company, it might not work.

Did you by any chance see if I was on the "do not send list" and/or if I was a bounce back?

I checked -- the email address on your FT account is clear on our end; we're sending it out to you.

Thanks and fwiw, I'm on the phone w/At&T as we speak and they suggested I reply to the email using a copy and paste of the "reply to" address from the forwarded e-mail I got. I did that and wondering if that will show up on your end and if yes, can you reply back to me on it?

That's what I figured as all I did was copy the reply to address as I can't actually reply since it was a forwarded e-mail

^ and do you mind sharing just the domain of your provider (i.e. mine is @pacbell.net which is under AT&T and yahoo) either here or my pm?

Of course. It is a gmail account so @gmail.com. Or did you mean my isp? I will pm you my email addy and you can email me and I will reply if that helps?

We skipped a week to get back onto the 1st/15th schedule more or less.

Well I am, but that's a whole different story ;)
I will anxiously await my issue of TalkMail next week.

I assume the 7/15 issue of TM went out? I didn't receive mine and wondering if a single email of TM from the actual address that it is sent from can be sent to me using my e-mail address on file w/ft as I want to see if I receive it as according to my provider, nothing is being intercepted on their end. Also, can you e-mail me the actual e-mail address that is used to send tm

I received it but that was sent from you at IB but what I was hoping for is that it could be sent from the same address/domain that sends out TM. Also, I have a generic yahoo address and I'm thinking of changing my ft email to that one to see if the next issue of tm comes thru but a question-can one have two e-mail addresses on file or just one as I'd love to have both so if I get the yahoo one but not the other one, then I know it's my provider blocking it

When does the next issue of TM come out (or has it already)? I've changed my F/t email address and want to see if in fact I get the next issue

Cr*p as now it does look like my provider is blocking it. Is there any domain information you can e-mail me which I can share with them which might help in getting this resolved?
