Retain display of terms searched?

Retain display of terms searched?
Is it possible, when searching, to have the terms searched remain visible when the hit list is displayed?
Sometimes I try several strategies, each slightly different, depending on the results, and, frankly, it would be very helpful to see displayed the terms being reported on, especially if they were not also hidden as I scrolled down the hit list.
