Mark Forums Read not working

In the past 3-4 days, the "Mark Forums Read" on the forum home page (which is the only place I can see it) has worked only about 50% of the time. What gives?

This is the only solution to not seeing 3-4 days of bolded threads for those of us who don't use My FT, which already added extra steps but doesn't even take me back to my last log-in but also includes a few hours before that time. Whatever you tech guys are doing, you're making it too hard to use this bulletin board!

Did you receive a message of any sort when it didn't work, or was it just a case of clicking around and noticing it didn't work?

linsj,

I can't seem to duplicate the issue.

Is anyone else having this problem?

it just happened to me with this current log-in and if i may, i have been marking all forums read long before to the latest enhancement to f/t but again, on this current log-in all my forums were showing as "un-read" along with about 2-4 pages (in some forums) of un-read posts)

For me, when I click on it, it appears to mark them read (i.e., no color shows any
more), but when I log on, many old posts within the fora have reverted to their bolded
status. I really dislike this, and it negates whatever purpose the marking serves.

My recent experiences show:

mark forums read + logout immediately after = flags don't stick

mark forums read + continue to look around = flags do stick.

How do you logout? Are you clicking the Log Out link, closing the browser, closing a tab, navigating to an unrelated site, or something else?

I've been here more than normal lately to see if I can find a pattern. When I'm done going through FT, I click Mark Forums Read on the forum home page, then close the browser or go to another sight. I do not log out. For the past three days, the pattern, with one or two exceptions, has been that it works every other time.

Funny - for me it was working last night; if it quits again after this
session I'll report back.
