Points

  • People on Flyertalk are good enough at condescension to begin with
  • The emoticon usually does nothing but make the person using it look like a jerk
  • It does not promote discussion in any way
  • It helps threads that are emotional to begin with, degenerate more quickly

Counterpoint

  • This emoticon is a nearly foolproof way to weed out the douches and lame-o's who think they're clever

Thoughts?

In all seriousness, Technical Issues is probably a better forum for this discussion than is OMNI.
