Ad blocks FT content

Hello,

For some reason, it seems that the advertising has precedent over the website. The picklinst in the drop down is being blocked by the Virgin Atlantic advertisement & I don't believe it should be.

Simple solution: block the ad
I've seen similar issues with Firefox but then I installed ....... Plus and simply got rid of the ads.
You can even whitelist a few ads on FT to allow FT to get a few ad hits.

I could do that - as an Inside Flyer subscriber, I have the option of ad-free premium FlyerTalk - however, as a TB member, I want to have the same user experience as the majority of FlyerTalkers.

And, sometimes I click on the ads so FT gets some money from them!

Thumbs up confirmed

I confirm the same for Chrome 4.0.249, Firefox 2.0.12, and IE 7.0.1500 which led me to find another problem which I just reported.

Thanks for the feedback, and the screen shot. The team will take a look and attempt to solve as quickly as possible.

I've got the same problem. Need to use "Search" but can't access it due to Virgin Atlantic ad. I downloaded ....... plus in the past but seems it doesn't work anymore.

Exactly the symptoms reported and pictured above, for me on IE. Also, content extending beyond the right margin commercial, until I maximize the window. I haven't seen the problem since the recent Virgin commercial stopped showing. I think the last time this happened it involved a credit card -- Chase? So, I am also saying that IME it has been selective.

Whoops, after I clicked "Submit", up popped the Virgin banner commercial again, showing the same "behavior". I thought it had passed.

I just got a new computer with Windows 7 and Firefox 3.6. With ....... Plus installed and enabled, I still get the top, side and bottom ads, while my old XP computer does not. Is this a known issue or possibly related to the apparent changes in how ads are being deployed on Flyertalk?

NEVER MIND..... apparently this is a known issue which you solve by de-installing and re-installing ........

Please delete. Duplicate. This one didn't post and didn't post, so I hit "submit" again. Apologies...

Still happening today. But, again, it's only by the Virgin Atlantic advert with the diagram of a plane. When another banner advert is up there, it doesn't happen. The only two I've ever had trouble with are this one and the Chase credit card one. The Chase one combined the comments extending to the right side of the window with the Chase right margin advert staying on top of it. The Virgin banner advert just stays on top of the drop down menus.

Still the same here, also, but seems to be only with the Virgin plane diagram advertisment. Other banner ads on the top seem to "step back" when clicking on one of the tabs at the top. The Virgin plane does not.

Comments extending out over right margin ad for American Express, this morning. Wasn't going to report it since it was net to our side, , but since I'm here on other business...

And I think I've also had the problem with the top banner ad extending over content when it was an "active" Disney World hotels ad.

I wonder if it has something to do with how much like a regular commercial these ads are. In other words, full animation, lots of motion. Perhaps the animated ones keep loading or streaming? What got me thinking about this is that when I open two windows at about the same time, and one is AOL, they keep trading off like popups as AOL keeps popping up -- reloading?
