Got TAP upgrade, TAP won't refund economy seat selections
Good morning friends!
I paid to select seats on an upcoming TAP flight where we were in economy restricted. Seemed like money well spent. I also bid on an upgrade using the minimum allowed bid. I didn't expect it would work, and lo and behold, it did! I'm glad to be upfront, it all worked out...except now TAP says they won't refund the economy seat sections.
Anyone know if that is, in fact, their policy and ... perhaps of greater interest....anyone have any tips for securing a refund for those Econ seat selections?

Perhaps it's the fact that you already paid extra (seat selection) that swung the auction in your favour?
Unless you have T&Cs from your various transactions that show that successful Plusgrade upgrades result in the refund of payments for extra services, it may very well be that this fee isn't refunded.

I am taking a couple TAP flights later this year and considering bidding for an upgrade, but already spent ~$50 for two flights on seat selections off a discount economy booking. Had the same thought that they might refund the seat fees, but now I'm less inclined to bid.
Can I ask what route, how much you bid, how far in advance you put the bid in, and how many days prior to departure did the upgrade confirm?
