Forum Proposal: Spain.
what on Earth...6 threads out of the 25 (including a couple of general, e.g. "worst airports", and misposted) in the first page of the Europe forum...the oldest being less than a week old.
By comparison, the 6th oldest thread in the Russia forum (which, in case anyone has any misunderstandings, I fully support!) is 10 days old.
Does one need to say anything more?

Yes, because I'm not quite sure what you are trying to say?

Demonstrated need is one of those pesky parameters that I usually look for. I guess I'm pretty dense as the need isn't really demonstrated... yet.

How is it not demonstrated when Spain, one country out of 30 (assuming we take out microstates and countries/regions that have their own forum) in Europe, takes up 25% of the forum? That doesn't really work well for discussion about Spain nor about the rest of the European countries discussed there.

You might want to take a look at the thread I started earlier in the year asking about the requirements for starting a new forum. Best I can tell, after reading replies from the 3 TalkBoard members that did take the time to post, is that there are no fixed requirements, but the TalkBoard members will know it when they see it.
Has the TalkBoard developed guidelines for opening or closing forums?

But Europe already is one of the most active destination fora out there, so the numbers are not small (see comparison to Russia forum for example...or maybe compare to a REALLY quiet destination forum such as Cuba!).

Thread Titles
Instead of creating sub-forums for the various European countries what if there was a policy to place the name of the country you are referring to at the beginning of the thread title so it is easier to search.
So instead of titling it "Crime in Barcelona" title it "Spain: Crime in Barcelona"
Thoughts??
ADDED: You could even just add a drop down list of countries as the prefix just like Coupon Connection has for "Have", "Want", "Question", "Free", etc.

Hmmmm. To be honest, we cannot even get people to post threads into the correct forums, never mind expect them to be able to title them according to a system

the existing sub-forums are relatively high-traffic but I think you've found a great solution for the countries actually represented in the europe forum
^i started a thread in the europe forum with a poll included to feel the forum temperature ...

No, obviously not. I don't have need to be removed from Russian Forums. It should have to kept it for awhile. I think it will have to changes to become new Spain Forums. This is particularly consideration to have decide own facts for you. It should have to be considers to create new Spain Forum. Some of few forums does not have any separately by different thread. It will have to be exact to stay where they are on Europe Forums.
