smiley except in this post. It's never used in a positive manner...always negative. Even
and
can be used humorously in the right context. But I'm one of the TB members that want more smiley choices rather than less so I don't want to start subtracting choices.

I move that FlyerTalk adopts 5 extra - and animated - smileys/emoticons
I move that FlyerTalk adopts 10 extra - and animated - smileys/emoticons
I move that FlyerTalk adopts 100 extra - and animated - smileys/emoticons
etc.
Big picture guys like you do not usually sweat the small stuff.

At least get the darn thing to SOME kind of vote ... PLEEEZE, or the Life Support Ambuance will need to visit the House oF Miles to pump adrenalin into this dead horse.

OK, I dusted off the ancient thread we have on this in our private TB forum and let's see where it goes. Hopefully we'll get an up or down vote on this and then we can get on with the rest of our lives.
Thanks for the input thus far and we're looking forward to continued discussion as this goes forward.

Thanks Cholula.
Dust if off .. it will have 3 inches of sedimentary ROCK covering it in there by now I'd have thought.

If smilies were ever to be increased, can it also be agreed to send a notification to all members that smilies can be disabled on your profile, and the additional smilie will not interfere with your FT experience?
Along with the pop-ups, top ads, side ads and ads within posts

Any more ads, and FT would look like a Nascar car. And yes , I know Ad blocking software and FT premium can fix that, but so does the checking off the smilie button

You can disable signatures, avatars (which we don't have visible except in social groups) and images (which are used in just a couple forums).
Where's the Disable Smilies button?

I thought the disable images would do the trick
Nevermind then

How about creating a button to disable smilies
Maybe it was another board that I was thinking about, you see one you seen them all

- No more smilies, status quo
- 5 more smilies, with animation
- 5 more smilies, without animation
- 10 more smilies, with animation
- 10 more smilies, without animation
- I don't care how many are added, just NO animation

However if you were a TB member with some initiative and some will to see this succeed, YOU make a motion outlining what smileys YOU suggest .. if you get a seconder it goes to a vote.
Please do not tell members what will NOT work when you have no idea ... either MAKE it work -- or bury the carcass with some dignity - that is all TB are being asked to do after YEARS of inaction
If you actually DO something now, other than saying what is not possible, this incredibly trivial matter after 2.25 YEARS, dies a death - or gets approved .. one or the other.

What does everybody think about this group of 38 smilies?
Rather than pick and choose, I might suggest we just go with the whole group.
Thoughts?

Although it's missing the puke smilie
