what is the point of the phones/programs forum?
This is the one I am talking about:
http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=475
It's had what looks to be like 2 active threads in the last 100 days and is named the same thing as the folder that houses it. Any ideas what this is for and why it still exists with obviously such little demand?

The airlines have really tightened up on these miles for switching programs.
I guess they caught on to FlyerTalkers flipping their phone service every 6 months...

That forum used to be pretty busy, just look back at the past posts made. Times have changed, and perhaps this is one forum that needs to be re-evaluated.

Fwiw there used to be forums for each major long-distance provider.
When we re-organized forums these got combined into a single forum, recognizing the lack of activity.

magiciansampras - you raised a good point, and after some discussion on TB based on your suggestion, several others agreed, and this matter will go to a vote suggesting we close this Forum due to lack of usage in today's tightened conditions re easy points for switcheroos.
Thanks for raising this here so it could be looked at. ^
As ScottC mentions this area was ONCE very busy, and clearly warranted discussion Forums, but times have changed. There may well be other Forums in similar circumstances, and if anyone notices them please post your suggestion here, and if it seems valid we can also take a look at it.
