New topic (old idea?) - aircraft
I tried to see if this has come up, but maybe my search technique is inferior (like so many other techniques, but enough of that.)
I'd like a topic on Aircraft - comfort, comparisons, configurations, changes, history - all that. Not trying to do an airliners.net thing, but look at the chatter on Travelbuzz on topics like "what equipment have you flown" or threads like the A380 rollout on "Newsstand" or similar.
All the time on the airline/mileage program topics people are comparing AA's J seat to BA's (ha ha) or dissing RJs (but not all of them.) A central "aircraft" board would focus such discussions. And with new airplanes coming into service, or old ones being modified, there's a steady stream of info that might be useful to many FTers.
Again, forgive me if this is old hat.

I've been waiting to see if there is any more discussion on this matter before bringing it to the TalkBoard for discussion.
Anyone else?

Kind of interesting...
With all of the discussions on the 380 being posted, maybe.
But there are several great aircraft sites, dunno if FT wants to be an "also ran" in this category.
It might be an intersting section in the photo area, but again, already done and done well.

While I am not one to think about airplane types... I rarely know which plane I am on unless it is a 747...
There are so many good sites out there on this issue I have a hard time understanding how Flyertalk could be better than those. While I believe we do have airline specific aircraft discussions in the airline threads, not sure of the value of generic aircraft talks.
