Ok, giving this another pass based on input in this thread:

I'e been supporting the idea of just using airline/hotel names, but I'd support this version. I'll have to think more about the choice of one version or the other, but I believe that the current names should be changed to make clear that it's appropriate to discuss the airlines and hotels in these fora, not just the FF or FS (frequent sleeper-TM) programs.

I think the Starwood program is known more as SPG for Starwood Preferred Guest. To see it written as Starwood | Preferred Guest just looks wrong to me.

Same with Hilton HHonors for me. :)

Those are minor & can be edited if necessary.

Cheers.

Thanks for all your work on this, Sharon.

I prefer Option 2, and I believe it will result in higher search rankings as well.

Why wouldn't TalkBoard want to get it right the first time, rather than editing later?

FWIW, I vote for Option 2, with the minor changes suggested in regards to program names.

When the motion is a formal one vs. a draft, if there are any edits they'll be done before it goes formal. When working on the drafts I went off what was listed in the current nomenclature.

Cheers.

As I've already said, I do prefer option 2.

And I also agree that it should be Hilton | Hilton HHonors and Starwood | Starwood Preferred Guest in final form.

Absolutely.

SkiAdcock Oct 30, 2013 2:13 pm

As already mentioned, the change can be made before the formal motion. I'd like to hear from FTers their preference for Option 1 or Option 2.

Cheers.

I like that change too, and I suggest that you go ahead and edit your recent TBT posts to make the change.

-Hawaii-based Airlines
Suggest (if room) "-Hawaii-based Airlines | Hawaiian Miles / Cloud Nine / go!Miles"

Sarfa33 Oct 30, 2013 2:57 pm

I prefer option 2. With option 1, I feel as though we are replacing one problem with another (e.g. "where do I post this thread about AA in general?" will become "where do I post this thread about AAdvantage?") :)
