Price for checked bag on economy light at desk [CPT-ZRH-LCY on WK/LX]

I’m flying CPT-ZRH-LCY on Swiss (although the CPT-ZRH is on WK)

im wondering how to find out the cost of a checked bag at the check in desk for an economy light fare.

right now it’s about R1400 (70 EUR) each way if I buy online but I’ve had experiences (especially at CPT) where the agent just waves a bag through (I’ve been *G but I know WK is not a *A carrier technical). So if the at counter cost is not much more I may just try my luck. But I want to figure out the difference. .

I would try my luck at the check-in counters; and don't whine too much if the quoted price at the airport is slightly higher than what you see online. Sorry, I have no experience with checked luggage fees ex. CPT.

Do update us on how it turns out.

Intercontinental flights still have a waiver on for 0+1 bags for *G.

The bigger question is, is your Swiss ticketed itinerary with WK as first and most significant carrier considered a *A flight where status applies... That I don't know.

I think that was the reason why the OP inquired (and I suggested to take the chance at check-in).

Thanks for the thoughts. Will update next week with a report but for now I’ll take my chances.

Here is the price list: https://www.swiss.com/za/en/book-and...additional-bag

€60 online vs €90 at the check-in desk.

Free bag in CPT

Quick report. Checked in with my economy light fare and dropped the bag for free. I’m *S but that shouldn’t be why. They took the bag and never asked for payement. I’ll be surprised if I have the same experience on the way back from LCY.
