Nice documentary report on the new concourse A at ZRH. Unfortunately available in German only but nice to watch anyway...

Very interesting indeed.
Highlights:
- New Dock A will be able to handle schengen and nonschengen flights
- New Dock A will be able to handle up to 8 widebodies (Code E aircraft) on its north side
- New parking positions (5x Code C (narrowbodies)) between Dock A and B
- New taxiway allowing simultaneous operations
- Connected underground (passport control)
- Bus gates on level 0
Total increase of jetbridges will be +3:
Currently 10 on north side of Dock A, after construction 12
Currently 7 on south side of Dock A, after construction 8.
Dock B will not have Code E gates to the north anymore due to space, so will be able to accomodate 6 Code C aircraft.

As nice and fascinating as this video is, the added value appears questionable to me.
$0.5 to $1 Billion just for a shiny steel and glass structure and 5 years of flying from a construction zone.
Really?

...and all the hardstands „H“ and „I“ (Between Dock A and Runway 28) are lost, which is a petty, because they are MUCH closer to the airside center than those dreaded ones near the maintenance base.
