Transfer in JNB: LX to SA
I will fly ZRH-JNB-WDH r/t (JNB-WDH on SA) in a few months.
I have plenty of time in JNB on the inbound. Any suggestions which lounge to use (will arrive in LX F)?
On the outbound, I have only 1h20' in JNB to transfer.
I have never been to JNB before: How smooth is immigration, do I have to go through security again? Do I have to change terminals? Is there any arrival service for F paxs? Any suggestion welcome.

With regard to the specific LX questions:
There is a PA pick up service. They will normally take you to the end of the respective queue but on one or two occasions I have seen them even accompany pax to the front of the queue.
LX F pax have SA F lounge access, but I believe access is granted only before LX F departure and not as transfer pax arriving LX F.
The VS arrivals lounge is sign posted as the arrivals lounge for LX F, though I haven't tried this myself. This lounge is after immigration so of no use if you use the official transfer route - nevertheless on a long layover it might beat no lounge, or the SA C lounge (*G access).

Last time when I arrived there the LX F escort was waiting just before the immigration hall. Since you transfer internationally you don't need to go thru immigration. For transfer you just need to go thru security and then back up to the gates. Just make sure you look for the transfer sign, it is easy to miss. When you are in the immigration hall you did something wrong.

I will fly LX First to JNB in a few weeks connecting to an international flight with SA and vice versa.
On the way back, will there be an LX F escort when I arrive with SA for my int/int connection to LX?
I understand that an invitation is needed to enter the Virgin Clubhouse in JNB. Where do I get such invitation as connecting passenger? When does the Virgin Clubhouse open?

First of all, I am assuming you have all flights in one ticket, and the connection time is ample (>2h).
You will arrive at JNB and then you'll have to go through a passport check. After the passport check there are the connecting desks of various airlines, if you are going to get help and/or a lounge invitation this is where I would ask. After the connecting desks there is a security check, and after that you are in the international terminal. There are no priority lines for premium passengers anywhere.
If your connection is tight and/or you are on two tickets, consider hiring Bidair ([email protected]) to have their meet&greet service and skip the queues.
