short search message

I know that you cannot use FT search function for less than 4 letters so no airline abbreviations or airport code searching. If you try you get told that. But you can use google to search FT for an airport.

Why not have the message say No can do here but you can do it if you ..... and even link to google search.

The "short search message" issue is already discussed in several other threads on this forum, as well as the Technical Issues forum. Here is a solution, as suggested by FlyerTalk staff over on the Technical Issues forum:

Just add wildcard asterisks to the too-short search string.

Example: Instead of BKK use BKK*

I think this is a great idea. Not everyone reads this forum... especially newer members... so a "friendly" reminder when the search is attempted is a great way to further educate members.
