Hi Guys,
One of the recent updates to FT has been adding the similar threads tool, which I think is excellent. However, is there some way of restricting how far back the threads go? Finding similar threads from 2000 and 2001 (as has recently happened to me), is actually detrimental, as information is likely to have changed over the past 7 years.
Could you perhaps restrict it to similar threads within the last 36 months (3 years). i.e. from 2004 onwards?
What do you think?
Lewis

It's a wonderful addition! ^ ^ ^
I for one like it the way it is, as I sometimes find reading old threads to be somewhat useful, or at least interesting. But of course opinions vary.

A couple things. As for limiting the older threads, I'm not sure we can do that but if I'm not mistaken, it does already list the date of the thread so you would know just how old the info might be.
Second. We had to take the feature down as it was causing our servers to freeze with the load from constantly refreshing the list and with 7 million posts, that's a lot of data to refresh given our daily posting. We hope to have a solution for this shortly and revive as i think it was helpful as well.
Thanks for the input.

Wouldn't it be more useful to show 'similar threads' when somebody is starting a new thread to avoid the same questions cropping up all of the time?
