3 Question Survey
I replied to the survey and wasn't happy to see a tribalfusion advertisement up there when I closed the window
... I'm ad-free on FT and don't expect that if I provide you with information you've requested that I'd be exposed to more ads. More annoying than anything but still felt wrong.

I looked at the poll you are referring to and think i figuered out the situation. You responded to a poll that on the front page says that it is sponsored by InsideFlyer magazine. When you clicked on the sponsored poll, it took you away from FlyerTalk (you'll notice that by looking at the URL address on your browser) and thus the exposure to any advertising elsewhere. As the poll was not an active part of FlyerTalk - ie. the threads in which members exchange information about the topics of miles, points and travel, the ad-free option was not in play. Sorry that you were inconvienced.
There are actually polls set up in various threads around FlyerTalk and they remain ad-free as they are actually part of the threads.

I knew it was off the FT site, but it was a poll where the people providing responses are essentially doing insideflyer (or whatever organization) a favor by providing feedback. My comment about the ads-free option I have with FT was to indicate that I dislike advertisements enought that I was willing to pay to avoid them.
Is there no way to not associate the advertising pop-up ads with the polls? If no other option is available, then I'll just avoid the survey requests in future.
