Suggestion: Second post of every thread is for summary info and editable by all
I've seen this implemented on other boards and it has worked out really well. Especially for threads with lots of information spanning many pages.
Basically this thread would be editable by anyone who is a FT member, and the edit history would allow reverting back to the previous edit, in the event of a screwup, inappropriate usage, etc.

Yes, something like a wiki is being suggested here... implemented in each Flyertalk thread.
FatWallet does it. The idea is that a deal may be complex, and that any member can edit a 'quick summary' of the offer to help members take advantage of it.
Not sure it would be helpful for 99% of threads. But there is a use.
